River's Edge Cafe

The Rivers Edge cafe is a remarkable place. Not only for great food, but for an environment and staff that makes you feel warm and welcome. As they say, it's not just a cafe, but "a place for minds to meet". And that's what you'll find here. It's a family run joint, and the staff are extremely friendly and will make an effort to get to know your name and what you like, but not in an overbearing way. You'll see a lot of familiar faces of regulars and the vibe/energy/culture of the place is very friendly to all walks. As for the food, it's delicious and very reasonably priced, especially given that they use so many healthier and organic options where most restaurants would opt for whatever is most cost effective. My favorite lately has been the "special veggie" panini. Like most things at the Rivers Edge, it's substantial, and it definitely makes a meal. Downtown Aurora wouldn't be the same without this place, and it's making the trip even if you're not going downtown anyway. (Plus, downtown Aurora is a cool place if you haven't seen it recently!) Definitely check it out for lunch or just for an americano and an amazing gigantic delicious habit-forming brownie. (You've been warned. I have a problem.)

This place is great and the coffee and food is just as amazing! Very cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff! The outdoor seating is the best on a nice day!

Only visited here once so far, but I was impressed with this little gem in downtown Aurora. A lot of effort has gone into revitalizing the downtown of my hometown, and fortunately, this is one of the results. Situated right by the Fox River, this is a friendly coffee shop/ cafe. My husband and I just ordered tasty beverages, so don't know about the food, but the atmosphere was quite nice and trendy. It includes outside seating overlooking the river and sidewalk seating, as well as indoor seating. I was quite impressed! This will def be a place we will go to when visiting my old stomping grounds again.

I go there for lunch when I'm in Aurora. I love the food, though my sandwich always falls apart while I try to eat it, and they don't seem to put whipped cream on the smoothies anymore. It's still really delicious though.

The River's Edge gives you a taste of the early 1900s. It's in a building that sits right on the river. Staff is courteous and friendly and the spinach craisin salad I had was fresh and delicious and they have the best coffee anywhere. You're missing a wonderful experience so go there. Soon!

I absolutely love coming to this Cafe. They make the best Chai Latte and bagel ever and people working there are always awesome. The ladies always go above and beyond to make sure you receive your order in a timely manner and will even hand you your order at the table you're sitting. All cafe lovers should try this place, again and again.
